Leaving Behind

With tears in our eyes,
we said good bye to North Carolina
and what had been our home for the past thirty-six years!

Take Off!!

This was during our overnight flight to Frankfurt, Germany.
We put Alex in the floor of the plane to rest!

Waiting for Breakfast...

When we arrived in Frankfurt,
we decided to take the train into the city.
It was a beautiful, sunny day and we had a great time...
We had heard they were celebrating Oktoberfest!

We found these huge pumpkins
for our last reminder of fall.

They had all sorts of kids activities for the festival.

After we left the festival,
we went into the Main Tower
and traveled to the top!

We were really up high;
but the views of the city were spectacular!

Alex protecting his Mommy... I'm afraid of heights :o)

WHEW!  Those were a lot of steps!
(Alex catching a little nap in the lobby)

When Alex woke up,
we walked through Main Square
on our way to the riverfront.

I love Nutcrackers!
This store was full of all different kinds...

The Riverfront...

before we head back to the airport
to catch our last flight.

Poor Alex is exhausted... we all were!
He was such a good sport walking around the city.
It was an exciting day; but we were ready to get
on our plane and rest a little.

He fell asleep on the luggage cart at the airport :o)
